Josh B. Cook, M.D.
Biography
Dr. Cook is a pathologist who has called Iowa home for the past ten years—he was not born in Des Moines, but he got there as quickly as he could.
Josh misspent his youth in California. He earned undergraduate degrees in math, physics, and chemistry from the University of Utah before commissioning as a junior officer in the U.S Navy. LT Cook spent five years in the Submarine Corps steaming around the Pacific Rim and getting a master’s degree in nuclear engineering. Having made the world safe for democracy, Josh moved to New Zealand and completed medical school. He returned to Utah for pathology residency, followed by a hematopathology fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis. Outside of work, he enjoys adventure motorcycling, outdoor adventures, dressing like a train conductor, and writing about himself in the third person.
