Our Pathologists

Jenna M. McCracken, M.D., Ph.D.

Biography

Dr. McCracken joined Iowa Pathology Associates in 2022 and currently practices general anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and hematopathology. Her journey into pathology began with a deep interest in understanding disease at the cellular and molecular levels. That curiosity led her to complete both her MD and PhD in Microbiology at the University of Iowa, where her research focused on the immune response to bacterial pathogens.

During graduate school, Dr. McCracken developed a keen interest in flow cytometry – a tool that continues to play a significant role in her practice. She completed her pathology residency and hematopathology fellowship at Duke University and was excited for the opportunity to return to Iowa and join Iowa Pathology Associates, where her training and interests went full circle.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time in the garden, working on needlework crafts, and keeping up with her young children – which, yes, definitely qualifies as a hobby in its own right!
