Brian J. Hall, M.D.
Biography
Dr. Brian Hall joined IPA in January 2023 and brings deep expertise in dermatopathology, with a particular focus on inflammatory dermatopathology and pigmented lesions. He earned his M.D. from the University of Kansas and completed his dermatopathology fellowship in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern.
An accomplished author and recognized expert in nonneoplastic dermatopathology, Dr. Hall is the lead author of Diagnostic Pathology: Nonneoplastic Dermatopathology (Elsevier) and has contributed extensively to the field. His academic portfolio includes 85 book chapters, 8 books, and numerous peer-reviewed journal articles. He is currently coauthoring the 12th edition of Sauer’s Manual of Skin Diseases with Drs. Clay Cockerell, Anand Rajpara, and Dirk Elston, as well as the 4th edition of Diagnostic Pathology: Nonneoplastic Dermatopathology alongside Drs. Clay Cockerell, Kiran Motaparthi, Travis Vandergriff, Chad Jessup, and Dirk Elston.
Dr. Hall has served as an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Pathology at the University of Utah School of Medicine, further reflecting his commitment to education and mentorship in the specialty.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Hall enjoys long-distance running, gardening, and spending time with his three daughters.
